This year’s
Viking festival was again an overwhelming success.
Participating Vikings from Denmark, Isle of Man, Co. Down and
Dublin made the event culturally more authentic by recreating a
working Viking village. Many thanks to all the local
craftspeople and food producers who once again showcased the
wealth of talent that exists in our area.
Unfortunately
we did not break the record for the world’s tallest dog but Anne o Kieffe has to be congratulated for organizing this “dog show”
with a difference!!
Our festival
could not run if wasn’t for the kind donations received from our
sponsors and we thanks them sincerely and hope they will
continue to support us in the coming years.
Finally I'd
like to thank all our volunteers, committee and the community in
general for being so supportive over the last year in giving up
some of their much valued time. Preparations have already begun
for the 2009 Annagassan Viking Festival which promises to be bigger and
better... We look forward to seeing you all there!

The Vikings have
left for now, but come and visit Annagassan anytime! Overlooking the Cooley Mountains on Dundalk Bay, Annagassan is close
to the M1 Motorway (Castlebellingham Exit) between Drogheda &
Dundalk. We're less than an hour from both Dublin and Belfast.
